Friends of the Family Club
Refer a friend. Be rewarded. Celebrate together.
Many of the families we work with found us because someone they trust mentioned our name. The Friends of the Family Club is how we say thank you. When you introduce a friend, family member, or colleague to our team, we take good care of them, and we make sure you know how much it means to us.

What is the Friends of the Family Club?
The Friends of the Family Club is our way of thanking the people who introduce others to Barnett Financial & Tax. When someone you refer has a first conversation with our team, by phone or in person, we mail you a small token of appreciation. Clients whose referral leads to a first conversation with us during the year are invited to our Friends of the Family Club dinner the following year. Referrals of your own children are always welcome, but they do not count toward the thank-you gift or the dinner.
There is nothing to sign up for. Making a referral is what gets you in.
How does a referral work?
Tell us who you are thinking of
Share their name and the best way to reach them using the form below, or call (800) 425-7044 or email myteam@bftwealth.com. It helps to give them a heads-up that we will be in touch, and to pass along our number so they know who we are.
We reach out and introduce ourselves
We let them know you thought of them, tell them a little about who we are, and offer a no-cost visit to talk through their questions. There is no obligation.
They have a first conversation with our team
Once they have spoken with us by phone or in person, you are in the Friends of the Family Club, and a thank-you is on its way to your mailbox.
Would you rather make the introduction in person?
Invite them to one of our dinner or educational workshops, and plan to join them. It is a relaxed way for them to hear how we think and ask questions before they ever sit down with us.
Who do you know who could use a second look?
We work with people who want their income, their investments, and their taxes working together instead of pulling in different directions. You may know someone who is:
If a name came to mind as you read this list, that is usually a good sign.
- Retired, or planning to retire in the next few years
- Wondering whether they have saved enough, or worried about running out of money
- Frustrated by market swings and unsure how their portfolio is positioned
- Looking for a steady stream of retirement income while their assets keep working for them
- Unsure when or how to claim Social Security
- Concerned about how much they pay in taxes now, and how much they will pay in retirement
- Unhappy with their current advisor, or simply wanting a second opinion
- Recently widowed or divorced and handling the finances on their own for the first time
- Facing a big decision, like a pension election, a 401(k) rollover, an inheritance, or the sale of a business
- Ready for a written plan instead of a collection of accounts
What will you say to the person I refer?
We never discuss your finances with the people you refer, and we will not discuss theirs with you.
We know a referral is personal. You are trusting us with someone you care about, and we take that seriously.
When we reach out, we tell them you thought of them and explain who we are: a team that brings retirement income planning, investment management, tax planning and preparation, and estate coordination under one roof, with a CPA on our own team. Then we offer a no-cost visit. If they would like to talk, wonderful. If the timing is not right, that is perfectly fine.

Were you referred to us?
We can't wait to meet you.
Someone who knows us thought we might be able to help, and we would love to find out. Tell us a little about yourself and we will reach out to set up a no-cost visit. It is a relaxed conversation about where you are today, what you want your money to do for you, and how your income, your investments, and your taxes fit together.
To schedule a no-cost visit, call (800) 425-7044, email myteam@bftwealth.com, or sign up online at bftwealth.com/schedule-a-meeting.
Frequently asked questions
People who refer others to Barnett Financial & Tax may be current clients of the firm. When a referral results in a phone call or in-person visit with our team, the person who made the referral may receive a small token of appreciation and an invitation to a client appreciation event. Because of this non-cash compensation, people who make referrals have an incentive to recommend our services, which creates a conflict of interest.
